Windshield glass removal
I have an old school boat with the 4 piece windshield that slides together....aluminum frame. I'm going to cut the frame lower and use plexi in the frame bases. How do I get the glass out without using a hammer? Was the frame built and welded with the glass in place or can I get the glass out by removing the rubber strips around the glass?

Trick is right. The rubber is spread to squeeze the glass to the frame. If it is not pliable or reusable, I purchased it new for $2 /ft from Ocean Dynamics in Fl. Put it in by soaping everything well and use a Popsicle stick to spread the bottom strip into the frame behind the glass. I found an old CD works well to slide under the strip and roll like a pizza wheel along the same plane of the glass(+5 degrees or more) to get the rubber to seal correctly. G$
