So as my dash project continues.....i originaly sprayed it with enamel....this turned out great....untill i wetsanded and buffed it out and burnt through a corner when the buffer fell on me so i go back to the paint supply store for some more enamel and guess what.....THEY DONT MAKE THAT ONE ANYMORE!!! ARRGGHH!!!! so i decide to go base/clear this time. I scuff up the enamel good with 150 then go over it with 320 and a tach cloth......spray the base and IT STARTS CRACKLING on me in spots!!! it looks like a brick pattern.....horizontal and vertical lines....not spider cracks or wrinkling....well maybe a little wrinkling around the edges in places but for the most part its a crackled up.......the majority of it looks fine though so i cant figure out whats going on.....what do i do know? should i wait till its fully dry and sand and re-shoot? I am i phucked and have to strip it down a way and start all over? DAMN!

Start over... the base is to hot for the enamel, did you use a hardner in it enamel?

Crap! Say it isnt so!!!
Hardner? nope just what they told me to mix.....paint and reducer.....

Start over man. You chemicals are not compatible. It is like puting polyester on top of Epoxy. I always use hardener in my paints except for small touch ups maybe.

Audiofn is right!!! You will have to strip all of the paint off and start over!! Be sure to get ALL of it off or your problems will continue!! Welcome to the wonderful world of paint!!!!! Ain't it FUNNNNNN!!!!!

CRAP!!! well......its not like the boat was gonna hit water anytime soon anyway......<big sigh> oh well.....back to sanding and smelling like chemicals for a few more days!
