Default Ballpark paint job cost?

Kicking around some ideas to update my '96 Powerquest. The boat has decent graphics for a '96, but they were done in the gel back then and are fading just a touch - you can bring them back with a wheel, but I figure its only a matter of time.

So, sitting here on a nice 50 degree Michigan fall day, I started thinking . What would it run - ballpark - to paint the hullsides from the chine to right under the rubrail? I would avoid doing the transom, and leave the deck white as well.

Seems to me this really limits the amount of hardware you would have to deal with, and would make a decent update as well.

I'm no photoshop guru, but this is kind of what I'm thinking...

Wow, looks good - did he paint it white first, or just cover all the graphics? Mind if I ask you what it ran, ballpark? PM is OK... if you'd rather not say, that's cool.

I've always like solid hullsides, and I'm thinking I could put some vinyl graphics on it if it really needed something more. Definitely going with an American flag up front on each side!

Thanks Sean, that's kind of what I was thinking. Much more and I dont' think it would be worth it on a boat this old. Maybe I can get some input from glassdave, I hear he's been known to paint a thing or two...

dockrocker, Sean H is probably in the ballpark as far as pricing goes, Are you sure the graphics are in the gel? I thought the earlier Powerquest's had painted on graphics but I'm not sure. If you were closer, I would be happy to bid on or do the job, but I am a pretty long haul away for you. I'm sure either glassdave or Mither T would do you a good job that you would be happy with. Good Luck!

we had our 95 top gun brought up to date last spring by Dave Hunter in fort lauderdale.
he did an awesome job.deck work and rub rail down for around 9k.
dont spend alot, you will get zero return on your $
if you stay away from all hardware, that will keep the cost down.
if your graphics are in the gel coat, you will have to sand down the entire side.

The graphics are definitely gel - PQ started painting around 2000 or 2001, I think. It looks surprisingly good for being 10 years old, the red is barely faded, just trying to plan ahead. Winter is the time to start thinking "project", eh?

yep . . Sean is right. it would be in the 5K range, could probably even toss a little graphic in for that ( accidentally said that to Sean ) if we keep it on the hull. top shelf job buffed to perfection im just down the road if you need anything.

hey do you listen to Drew an Mike ?
