DAMN!!! I need some clear coat help now!!!
OK....heres my latest problem... Today was just perfect and i wanted to Finnish my dash project......so i sanded down all the trouble spots and re-shot the base....perfect! Sweet i was on a roll......waited an hour and shot the clear....perfect!!! yahoo!!! i'm giddy at this point.......1/2 hour later i shoot a second coat.....no problems.......wife needs me to come with to help with an errand...OK cool no problem it shouldn't take more then 1/2 hour and i'll shoot another coat. We are driving and wouldn't ya know it it starts to drizzle!!!!! CRAAAP! get home just in time for it to pass.....nothing bad but i have small droplets here and there.......the clear was soft enough that when the water hit it left a dimple.......so now its too dark to do anything. My question is what now????? can i re-shoot it in the morning? I did this at about 4:00/4:30pm.......or do i now wait 24 hours for it to cure somewhat hard and sand and shoot??? Man i am soo pissed right now it ain't funny anymore

i would take it where it will be warm, anything below 50 degrees it will not dry (very fast) it should be dry enough to lightly wet sand in the morning 1200-1500 grit to sand out pits. recoat.. first coat medium wet ( do not flood) 2nd coat wet. don't get carried away if you have slow hardeners & reducers it will flow itself out. i see no need to wait 24 hrs. if its dry to the touch. 2 coats is all you need.

Its sitting in my heated garage right now.....have the thermo set at 60 for the chilly nights.....
Should i wet sand the whole thing then shoot or only the areas that have the spots?
