Hey all!

I am going to repaint the stripes on my 1990 Baja. I assume they were originally painted with Imron. What paint would be the best choice to paint over the stripes?

Thanks,
Scott

Most stripes on Baja's are not painted. They are done in the mold in gelcoat.

I had a shorter 1990 Baja that had it's stripes repainted with Imron and they looked great. I wanted to know what would be recommended instead of Imron this time? Anything new, better, cheaper on the market?

There is nothing more durable than imron. If you want to find something cheaper or easier, you can use whatever you feel comfortable using since the paint is fully cured. Wouldnt suggest laquer though(if you still can even get it)

offshore ginger is right Awlgrip rocks !!! Imron is great as well but under water for considerable time Awlgrip is better along with the wear and tear. Imron can blister, but generally retains shape after trailer and dried out again.

Its funny How awlgrip was mentioned here I have been inhaling it all day and let me tell ya I have a killer buzz!

Really heavy thick stuff that yields a high gloss will cover anything includung forgotten wrenches.
I have been using Imron for years It to is a excellent durable
paint. Today was the first for the Awlgrip but I beleave
it was used on this Skater so I am trying to follow suit.

I think the Imron is less exspensive.

Take your pick.
