definetly use Duratech reducer in the gel no ifs and or buts, and as Audio said no acetone. it will make life very easy when it comes time to sand it out. if the repairs are not structural i would use 3M's vinylester premium marine filler and prime that with the Duratech primer. from there you can go to gel.

OK guys, no one around here has heard of "Duratech" reducer. Do I have a second choice?

Re: All Youz Glass guys...
My repair is sort of structural, I faired 3/4" to 0" from the transom foreword, (with duratec putty) including reshaping the strakes and adding a 7-1/2" keel pad. Now I am planning on laying multiple layers @ 45degs to each other of 10oz cloth with west system epoxy. I haven't started the layup yet, and it looks as if I should use vinylester resin instead of the epoxy.
Thanks Jason
Thanks Jason

Re: All Youz Glass guys...
Gentlemen,
Thanks again for all the help. Thankfully my first attempt was on a "test boat" before I got real stupid. I got to see first hand what not to do, and most all of it was exactly what you guys described &/or said would happen.
Special thanks to Dave. Our conversation was a real eye opener. Now I know what the green stuff was for that I used to see on gel-coat repairs...
If the next "test patch" goes like I think it's going to, I'm ready for the actual repair that got me into this to begin with. Thanks again guys!
