We use awlgrip. Just get the "brushable catalist" instead of the spray. Clean the bilge , let dry, roll or brush it on. Dave

Check out Bilgekote, It's made for this, is brushable and cures smooth and shiny. Stuff is great, Hot Boat used it on his Scarab and it came out real nice. I'm going to use it on my on going restoration.

What Awlgrip product do you use? Some are not recomended for below waterline use and the others are bottom paint. I`m doing the bilge in my top gun and don`t want to use the wrong product and have problems.

As long as the paint isn't going to be submerged under water for a few days, you will be alright. That is the manufacturer CIA . I've had it underwater for weeks without problems. Use the regular single stage with the brushable catalyst if brushing or AwlCat 2 if sprayed.

What color Awlgrip is everyone using? I'm redoing my 38 top gun while the motors are out. There seems to be a ton of choices. 5-6 different whites? Is snow white too bright? Is there such a thing?

I'm assuming I just need to pick a top coat color and pick up the #3 brushing converter? Is this right? I'm hearing no primer is needed?
How much paint & Converter will I need for this job?
