Re: Floorboard... plywood or ?
i just had my ScarabIII surveyed and it looks like i am doing stringers and bulkheads this winter. so im in the same boat as Jackhammer . . . literally . one thing to keep in mind with Coosa, while it will not rot it can absorb water. any holes that you drill in the bottom for water runs should still be sealed. i like to drill a larger hole and bond in a piece of PVC tubing. i also prefer to laminate with 3/4 rather than use the inch and a half, especially for transoms. its a great product and much easier to work with than plywood. cuts and shapes nice

Re: Floorboard... plywood or ?
just a guess but the compressive is probably right between the two. and let me reiterate i am using coosa for the stringers and bulkheads only. plywood for the transom. its a personal preferance and i know Coosa is fine for transoms but i think in the case of heavy offshore boats like mine laminated plywood is better. at the very least if you decide to use it coosa for transoms laminate it with 3/4.
