Default Getting rid of Black Streaks And CORRECT buffing pads

I have these black streaks all over the boat. Last year I used a product by 3M called Marine Restorer and Wax and then waxed right after that. It seems to bring the boat to a very nice glossy look and was amazing. I used a cloth type pad last time on the buffer but for this year I was alerted to use a foam pad instead. I was also told that it would prevent swirl marks on the hull. Can anyone confirm some of these myths for me? Thanks

depends on what you are buffing. i have always had best luck with wool on gel coat and foam on painted surfaces. what are you working on?

If they are the black streaks from your cover and/or snaps that appear after a week or two , I found Windex wipes them right off

It's a Power Quest, gel coat for sure. There are stripes on the hull, blue and green but thats also inside the gel coat.

Yeah thats exaclty the problem but they are almost stained in there. Last year buffing helped alot, boat looked brand new.

Hi
I use Castrol SuperClean, just spray it on and wipe off and after rinse very well. Then apply a good wax, you should be OK for a while
