De- "blower scooping" a hatch
Pulled the hatch of my 30 daytona, removed the scoops. will make a new padded insert for top which will cover the holes and the base should have enough integrity to it to span the holes.
Initially I was going to get matching 1/8-3/16" balsa and core the holes to match and glass from each side- then i was going to finish the underside for looks when the hatch was raised (nothing special- just HO's wich may eventiully get the raylar kit)
So I'm thinking I might be better off just to makle a large valence panel to fasten from the underside, cover the hatch holes and leave them for future potential blower use down the road. It's less involved- gives options at resale and will likely look better- cost less. What to use???? Have lexan in my Pantera which is ok but cracks over time- polished AL, Polished stainless???
