Replacing glass windshield with a fiberglass ferring
I took the windshield off of my scarrab ninja to get rid of the "Old school" look. The glass on the sides are about 12" tall(tallest point) I built a shorter one(6"),out of 3/4"plywood,bondoand fibrglass. About 400$ later decided it wasnt going to be strong enough plus it was HEAVY. does anyone know if these ferrings can be bought aftermarket? If not, whats recomended as a sub-structure to wrap the fiberglass around?

you could take the one you made and use it as a plug to make a mold... hehe a carbon fairing would look pretty snazzy... a layer of carbon, a couple layers of glass and another layer of carbon would keep the costs a little more reasonable, or you could core it.

Post 38 and on. Good luck. Within the last couple posts the guy gives his phone number if you have any questions on how he did it.

race fairing
Hey Tim , I'm gonna make a mold off my top gun fairing and build a new one to replace the burnt one.We could make you one too. The original just needs a little touch up to make it all smooth. The underside of mine is the reason for replacement. It's pretty charred. 913-927-1755
