new dash for old predator
i just finished wet sanding the new paint on the new dash inser i built. it was built from ply wood and balsa wood and a lot of fiberglass and a tad bit of bondo. I used to work on car audio back in college and have not done this stuff in years. let me know what u guys think. if anyone is interested in it, i have lots of pics. The red pics look like the dash has claw marks in it but its just the light. there is a pic of the old one (white) and my sexy new one. all the gauges are autometer marine white...
let me know what u guys thing and please be kind.

First of all, your dash looks great. Just to add onto your post, here are some pics of the Tahoe I built for my mother for Christmas...the speaker box is all fleece and fiberglass. I have done some fiberglass work and have found that using flleece to wrap your framework and using one coat of glass, sand the glass semi smooth, and then adding one more coat of glass will really make it lay smooth. I typically us just use one skim coat of bondo to fill in the pin holes. Once that is dried and sanded, I add a couple of coats of urethane primer and block, then it is paint time. A little custom paint wil go a long way to make things look better. I did some custom paint on the other box/consol that is in my dually. It really changed the look of the box.

P.
I can appreciate the amount of time that you have in your dash. All of those gauge pods were a ton of work ! I built a basic, square box dash for my Python and it took a month of sundays worth of sanding. Keep us posted on the progress.
I know that you ditched the SSM3 .What are you putting in for power/drive?

Re: new dash for old predator
im actually using the ssm3 and an aluminum head 504 with a 177 B&M megacharger. 9:2-1 compression all eagle forged internals. should be pretty potent. with a tired 330hp merk 454 she went 67 on the gps. this motor should make double the power so it should be fun..
Now i have to make the passenger side dash which will have another gps speedo incorperated. then a race fairing and finally the top will all be that sexy gloss red.
only 54 more dasy untill spring! damn i want warm weather.
