Hello everyone and how are you. I am going to repaint my engine compartment white. First, what is the best type of paint to use???.. Emron??
Also, I am just doing the engine compartment, not the entire boat... so can i just brush the paint on???... Or, do I need to spray the compartment instead?? Just didn't want any over spray to get in the way. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

I brushed and rolled mine with a two part industrial epoxy. Some people on the board have used bilge coat from west marine with good results. Good luck.

by far and bar none, Awl Grip is the paint to use. it is almost impervious to the egine compartment enviroment. i also use their primer to insure good adhesion.
as a matter of fact this particular bilge was done that way and upon curing of paint which was applied by fine hair brush it was blocked down and polished to a mrror like finish.

you guys are gonna love me for this, but my nephew is a factory trained hatteras tech..he told me they use good old fashioned rustoleum gloss white (not the rattle can), so thats what I used, brushed it on, it flowed out great, excellent adhesion, and gas oil etc. doesnt touch it, nice gloss too..

the bilge shown is of a 42 poker run fountain. the awl grip is the paint to use. it was designed for use over fiberglass and gell coat. there system is not even in the same league as the rest of the wanna be's.
