Default Must see...best bottom paint remover!!!

I've tried them all, nothing compares. Captain Lee's. Spray on out of a plastic bottle for a couple minutes then wipe off. Check it out:

Is it meth chloride based? Do you see meth chloride anywhere on the label? If so, be very careful, because it will soften gelcoat if it indeed has meth chloride in it.
I think the same company makes a soy based stuff that is supposed to be safe also.

Also, I think you got lucky. I do not see the epoxy barrier coat under the black stuff!

No meth chloride. Safe on gel coat. And yes very lucky no primer. This stuff would take it off though. Even says on the label it will take off Imron.

I spent all day yesterday, and will spend today - sanding off the barrier coat. I would halve like to try this stuff, but was told by more than one business that if I found anything that would soften the two-part epoxy barrier coat, it would also soften the gel-coat.

I am sick of sanding! Anything not you can not see on plane, will not get sanded! At least it is all smooth without the bottom paint....

Buy a gallon and be done with it! I plan on painting the whole boat any way so I'm still going to have to sand the whole boat. This stuff will just make sanding the bottom alot easier.

I just sprayed some on the gel-coat and it will soften it. The spot I sprayed on the bottom paint the gel-coat is fine underneath. So I would say if you don't spray it driectly on the gel it's fine. It seems to take off a layer of paint at a time. If you do use it be careful.
