Default Removing beding compound

I have some bow rails & swim ladder grab handle that are mounted to the exterior of my boat. I would like to remove these to have them repowder coated.Once the nuts & washers are removed from the backside of the fiberglass they still wont budge.Does anybody make anything to dissolve 5200 or what ever adhesive is still holding them in place?I dont want to hurt the gell coat.Should i try applying pressure with a plastic putty knife between the fiberglass and rail? Thanks in advance.
