gel coat cracks
My stinger has a black cowl It's part of the front deck.It has a lot of gel coat cracks. Not at stress point but on the flat parts.Do to the fact that it is black and the boat is red I think a lot might be do to heat.My question is this. can I sand down thru the cracks.to the glass fill and sand any imperfections,Epoxy primer it and then spray it black imron, with flex additive.I know that I will be thru the gel coat in some places, but will it work??? Thanks JOHN

That can be done. You will probably want a pinstripe to smooth the edges when you are done for a clean transition. ALso I think there are paints that will work & last better for you like Diamont or Concept.. But thats just My opinion..
If this is something you want done professionally, feel free to give me a call. We are just a couple hrs north of you..
