On with the Story....
The previous pics bring me up to April 4th, 2010 Easter Weekend... It was still early spring and I was thinking I may be able to get the boat in for summer.. I knew there was a wedding that I had to show up for but, I felt optimistic.. That weekend I remember taking my brother inlaw over to check it out while he was in town with the family visiting.... Plus I needed an extra hand getting the gas tank up in the boat. I was eager to get it in since I just got it back from having it cleaned on the inside & out and pressure tested. It checked out good so iI had the proverbial green light... As the boat sits in there, I had all the bulk heads in except on on either side that connected the hull to the cockpit liner....

Once Easter weekend passed and our visitors were gone, it was back to work. I epoxied up for wood blocks for the tank to sit on and 4 others to take the space between the metal tabs & the stringers. This was just like how it originally was..

Once bolted in and sealed with 3M 4200, It was ready poor the foam in. I previous did a lot of searching on whether it should be foamed in or not... I understand both sides of the discussion but decided to go back to how it originally was... If it lasted that long, hopefully it lasts just as long as it did before. However, since the tank did have some pitting, I thought I would wrap it with some plastic sheeting. I did this just in case it ever needed to come out, at least the foam was not fully attached to it.. If it was a bad decision, I will find out...

O yeah, the 2 part foam I used, I purchased from US Composites also. While pouring the foam, I didn't realize how much it expanded.. I definitely had a good amount that spooged over.. Once it was cured, my neighbor Larry let me use one of his tree saws. It worked good at cutting it down...

To cut down the foam even more, I just used a few different puddy knifes.. This worked pretty good. I was trying to get it leveled so I could apply some thickened epoxy across the foam to seal it up. Before it was tabbed 3" over on to the tank. I decided not to do that due to being able to remove it easier... I hope that doesn't bite me in the.....

At the same time while I was working on the gas tank, I was also working to fill the holes in the cockpit. There were 2 speaker holes, shift cable hole, and the rest I cant remember. This piece was my next logical step since it was the next big piece to install...

Since I new I wanted to fill in the engine splash well, I then started on that. I purchased a sheet of foam board from Menards. There had to be a few laughs in the parking lot trying to fit a 4'x8' sheet in the back of my Honda.... Luckily I new the rough dimensions so I cut it up with a razor on the spot.. I used to create a backing to glass to. Was it the best way to skin the cat... Don't know but, it was a learning experience. I also used PVC pip to help create the rounded contours...

Since one piece of wood would not take the rounded form, I cut up several pieces to glass in... I first made some templates out of poster board during the Arts & Craft fair and then traced & cut...

At this time also there was a stray cat that was hanging around the shop for about 2 weeks straight. We thought we would give him a home. Ang and I took him to vet and had him checked out and given shots to get rid of his ear mites. While he was at the shop he would stop following me around. He even would jump on my back and try to lay there when I was crunched over cutting glass... Around this time also, we did glass in the pieces of wood above. Some how I lost the pics of how that went.. Back to the cat, guessed what we named him for the time being??????? Reggie! Due to the jet black hair...
