My 2001 had splatter and so did my 94. Brian is one of, if not the most respected guy I know so I gotta give him a hard time when I can LOL. To be serious it does hide a lot. It does look cool sometimes but imo dated. And having it solid white you can plainly see any drips/leaks, nuts/bolts or screws left behind or even worse cracks or delam.

I still have a cassette player in my Cruiser along with a six disk CD and enjoys some older classic tunes made when instruments were part of what made up music. The crap produced today will never be part of future and no one will remember the filthy language . Oh yeah I'm older than dirt at 65 and have 3 amps and 14 speakers in my 06 Challenger blasting out Classic rock, Blues , Raggae Etc.

You sand it all down with 80 grit. Every surface and every nook and cranny.
You blow in a heavy coat of waxed gelcoat and sand it back with 120 grit. Repeat until smooth.
You finish with a 50/50 mix of gel and duratec high gloss or the paint of the choice.
Easy, huh?

another reason for white. you are doing a headstand next to or between the engines looking for a dropped socket, bolt, whatever. you need all the light you can get down there. besides, it'll look splattery enough soon enough.
