Judging by what you have done already, I get the feeling you know the answer to not wanting to do more than you have to. I would bet by the time you read this you have decided to do it all since most of the hard work is finished and why do it half assed. Keep up the good work and you will be boating soon with no worries about structural integrity.

I would have to say that it does matter. That grid and the materials its made from also act as a bit of a shock absorber. Boats flex relates to its ride characteristics so you will definitely want it to be uniform.
Also don't be affraid of re engineering any part of this, most production built boats have plenty of room for improvement. And for simplicity sake I would do stringers in two layers of half but certainly nothing wrong with mixing thicknesses.

Before Christmas I did manage to get the inside masked off before the next phase of deconstruction begins. Once the walls were out I masked the fuzzy sh** on the sealing off 100%... not sure what you call that stuff. To keep it out of the way on the sealing I used sticky backed velcro stuck hear and their.

Today I got the gas tank out. It was definitely wet underneath! The tank didn't look too bad but I havent looked that good yet. Tomorrow I will get the gas tank area cleaned up and hopefully start hacking out the floors.

Getting the remaining glass ground out of the way SUCKS! With all the edges left from what i have cut out their is a hell of a lot of edges to smooth out! After 3 hours today I gave up....hopefully get the rest ground out tomorrow. Yesterday the stringer came out. It is wet from one end to the other. Might be why the boat leaned in the water. The from on that side was only a little wet toward the bottom. I did manage to get one stringer laid up today.
