Rookie. I've done a number of transoms in my career, and I love the ones that are rotted out completely over ones that have some good wood left! Rotten wood basically falls out-- good wood you end up cutting into squares and chiseling it out!!! LOL! Good luck and keep up the good work!!!

I have no idea what the green stuff is. It's the only solid thing in the stringers.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe someone removed the cap and poured something in there. It's solid as concrete and has a ton of glass in it. Structurely the stuff seems good.

That looks a lot like Kitty Hair. It was used on a lot of Corvette repairs years ago. Found it in my early 70's Roadster after my sister backed into my car. My body shop guy said, Oh Shiit, they used this crap on a previous repair. We cut it all out and replace the panel and patched a couple smaller places on the ajoining panel with glass and resin.

Yep looks like marglass, pretty strong bondo with glass fibers mixed in
