Nice work.

I'm finding all sorts of why did they do that...at the factory. I suspect it may be from not expecting these hulls to be hard charging 40 years later.

​​But simple factory precautions and care when assembling would go a long way.

Halfgassed, Im going to eventually do it all the way to transom I knew i had some rot just didnt know it was as bad as it was untill I pulled the seats and decided to stab with a screwdriver then my light re upholstery plans changed .Yes you're correct about the bow lights and also those grab rails.

Drain holes are a must! I've seen a LOT of these boats stored outside, etc, etc. Water runs up to the front and never finds its way out. Leaking hatch seals, railing leaks and so on. Water left standing in the bilge will eventually find a hole and goodbye stringer & transom. It is a shame when you think abut the price even back then and some owner just lets it sit and deteriote away.
