Default 2000 33 avs dpx to bravo

I’m converting a 33 avs with dpx drives to bravo wondering if staggering the plywood in the transom would be okay or should I have the whole transom Redone. Got a few opinions some shops said that they would cut out the whole transom and some said that they would just fill the hole and stagger the second sheet. Twin 600hp 540s
