As a comparison, my 255, which is essentially the same hull but weighing in about 200 lbs less, makes 75 with 23" Mirage at 5400~5500. Power is twin 425 HP Vortec SBC's/Bravo I's. I calculate slip right at 10% which is excellent for a 35 year old hull design. My thoughts are that these boats need 800 Horsepower and around 900 # torque to get past the mid to upper 60's.
I am looking forward to "Tuning" a pair of 23" Mirage Plus for mine in the future....might become down right scary LOL!!
These hulls must really like the Mirage/Mirage Plus because mine also accelerates to the top quickly and jumps out of the hole.

I am still breaking them in but I ran it up there for about ten seconds while holding on to the wheel and GPS!!!
It's like yours on the low end...2000 RPM is 27 MPH with the drives tucked in...no tabs!!! I wonder what the gas mileage/range is at that speed?!!

This thread is really Awesome. I am really looking forward to seeing what I can do with my 272 this summer.
Any suggestions for winter projects before we hit the water? Besides the normal maintenance things to check. Running dual 350s
Thanks!
