Bottomfeeder - I'm glad I asked... Thanks for tip! Anxious to hear the results of the silent thunder delete. Are your 6.2's bone stock at this time?

Can I ask why you guys feel you need k-planes? Do the boats not handle well or something? Just curious. I've never heard my buddy say anyting about needing bigger tabs in the three years he's owned it.

A 292 does not need K-planes. We run 271's and 292's all the time, and heck, the tabs are all the way up 99% of the time anyway.K-planes are faster up and down and they look cool, but overkill on a 292.Plus on a smaller boat,K-planes can get some boaters in trouble Bennetts are fine. My 2 cents. Robert

Hey bottomfeeder, I took my 292 to the lake this morning with the imco manifolds and risers. 3 mph improvement. Much better out of the hole. I'm taking off the silent thunder to see what that does. Let me know and I'll let you know! Let's get these go fast boats going fast! -Nick Markosian

I'm 1.65 gears running 26 props. I'm running 5000 to 6000 elevation most of the time. I'm only getting 63mph up here. I went down to 1000 ft and achieved 69mph. I'm thinking I need 24's for up here and 28's for lower elevation. I'm telling you, altitude sucks man!-Nick Markosian

Re: Who's tweaked a 292?
Took the boat out today, temp was 105 [ I live in Phoenix } so a direct comparison to my last ride just wont be!!! It was 85 last ride, I put Hardin rubber flappers on my exhaust tips and removed silent thunder, same speed as last trip 68.8 mph on gps. exhaust noise was fine till I put the bimini up, definitlly louder at cruising speed 40mph I will be putting it back on when my drive showers come in from Latham and do a 20 hr service, Victory tabs should be in at the same time, this boat does porpoise or gallop at low speed [30mph] if the tabs are not down and the drives buried, maybe the'll help. Im having a hard time justifying spending the dough on whipples and screwing up my 5 yr warranty, By the time you do the whipples, with sea strainers, oil coolers, and maybe larger oil pans, you are gonna spend 15k plus, plus, plus, BOAT means Bring On Another Ten thousand RIGHT?!?!?!?

Dude, you already spent the motherload! Why not be happy with it? What's the point of spending all that dough on a boat if you're not happy with it? You really ought to consider prochargers as well.-Nick
