In my continuing effort to add what I am sure will be at least 10 mph to my top end, I am looking to replace the old steering wheel on my 89 311. Anybody have experience? What hub did you buy? Did it require any explosives or pry-bars to remonve the old wheel? New wheel is a Dino. Thanks.

Good luck getting the old one off. I couldn't get the one off my 311 even with a puller and some "convincing" with a small hammer.

We have also been working on one of those ba$tards on Velocity Mike's boat. It looks like cutting the hub is the only way, that will be happening soon, let ya know.

The wheel on our 242 came off with a cheapy puller from Ace hardware or all places, I guess I got lucky.
We used the billet hub from Trick Marine along with the Dino wheel. Turned out really nice.
