Default MSRP Vs actual purchase price (Fastech)

I will be negotiating for a price on a '06 292 Fastech in the near future. With all the options the MSRP is $155,790 . For all of you that have purchased NEW Fastech's, what percent below MSRP were you able to negotiate? Not including any rebates or financing incentives. Also, what was the time of year (fall, winter, summer...). I am trying to get an average of what the "market will bear" and go in with some idea of a fair price. Thanks.

On a separate note, I understand that this marina has a "dealer prep" charge of $100/ft, or $2,900! That seems very steep and you can bet that will be addressed during negotiations. Heck, I will drive to Decator, pick it up and prep it myself.

I have heard 20% off is typical....others with more experience should chime in soon.

I believe 30% is the approx. standard markup for "production" type boats, not just Formula. I have had some friends buy new boats out of season and get that off list because the dealer didn't want to hold the boat anymore.

I was told dealer markup is in the 30's, but be aware they need to make a profit. They don't move as many units as a car dealer so they must make more than the 2-4% that car dealers make. If you can get a newride for 12-17% over actual cost (good luck getting that info) then you are about right. Distress winter sales, etc are the exception.
