Any salvage Formulas around?
With my 79 project getting started I was wondering if anyone knew of a salvage that may have some newer Formulas. I like the side scoops behind the windshield and wondered if it may be possible to cut them from a newer model and mold onto my older deck. Is this idea crazy??? let me know what you think, stupid or not?

There was one up North that hit a "wake" and split. A month or 2 ago it sold for 15K on ebay. (98 312 w/ 454 mags). I contacted the guy about spare parts for mine and he said he was re-building it!!!

I sent a message also and he said it wasn't as bad as it looked. (where is the rolling on the floor smilie?)
Crap, it could have been 1/3 as bad as it looked and still not be rebuildable...

Re: Any salvage Formulas around?
After 4 hurricanes in Florida there were several salvage auctions going on. Saw a Fastec with 496's that was only under water. Totally shot, mold everywhere and motors were being advertised as saved but looked like it was under water for weeks. It had tide lines in the interior! The insurance companies are trying to get all the money for the boats and the auctioneers were gunning for big commissions too. Saw people buying junk for 30% off what the boat could be bought for before the storm. Other problem is finding someone to fix gel coats/ paint in an area that is swamped with work for the next 2 years. Would rather buy an abandoned barn boat than a torn up salvage boat any day!

Re: Any salvage Formulas around?
I've been searching for the eisenglass/camper canvas for a 280. It would seem someone would have this in salvage. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
