I agree.
Most of the new paint jobs I see look like someone left a 64 box of Crayola's next to a stove.
We're talking about $200,000-$300,000 and much more boats.
Would you put paint like that on a Ferrari?? - NO!
why?
You don't need to.
I also love the Donzi classic's look

4mula - didn't mean to jump your thread.
Your boat looks great - a little color, but not too over the top.
Have fun with her.

Hey, did you guys notice his props on that drive shot? It looks like the drives are set up so the props are turning to the outside. Mine turn to the inside. That's a really good looking boat!

Dave and Kim made it to Jasper for a shakedown cruise on their new 292. Weather was so nice they decided to spend the whole day cruising Smith Lake and having world famous Green Top Bar-B-Que tonite. Thanks for the business and have a safe trip home. Robert

Thanks Robert. We picked up the boat around 5:00am and made it back to St. Louis around 12:30pm. Just in time to miss a bunch of storms. I will keep in touch.

If anyone out there is interested in a Formula, I highly recommend Nelems Marine in Jasper, AL. Robert and Dano were a pleasure to work with!

I have several pictures that I will attempt to post. I forgot and had my camera set for HQ pics, so I had to resize them all and for some reason they got dark so I had to tweak the colors back to original. It should work okay.

We ended up putting a little over 3 hours on the engines. The lake was glass, but the air temp. was good! The boat performed great. Dano believes Formula tweaked the X-dimension down a tad to help with planing and mid-range efficiency, and I think he is right. Running 28" pitch labbed Bravo's. At 3500 rpm = 44 mph and 4000 rpm = 55 mph. Since the engines are so fresh I didn't want to push it too hard, but as you can see the SC5000 shows 69.0 mph (GPS). I brought my Stalker radar gun (wifey held it during the run) and it showed 69.9 mph (so close to that 70 mph mark!! ). Comparing the radar gun to GPS you can really see that several second delay in time for the GPS to catch-up.

Considering the lake was a sheet of glass, the engines aren't broke-in, I wasn't pushing it too hard, and I'm just getting used to ideal trim settings for performance, I am VERY pleased with the overall performance!! Can't WAIT to get it into water that has more than a ripple!! We drove in circles just to hit our own wake for Pete's sake!

Few more...

I am also very pleased with how my truck pulled this 292. I have had it for six months and this is the first time it has been put to the test. 2005 Duramax. Towed straight as an arrow running 76-78 mph (averaged 11.5 mpg - not so good at those speeds ). The grade braking feature with the Allison tranny works really well too.

I was thrilled to get my used Formula...I think I'd need a cigarette and a nap after getting a new one! Congrats
