RARE 1987 242 SR-1 (twins)
This past weekend went to take a look at a rare 1987 242
SR-1 setup for twins in cape cod. For those that may or may not know there were very few of these 242's made with twins with the rounded windshield (look the same as any 242 from 1987-1991--possible '92 don't quote me). There were only 4 made in 1988. The boat currently is a project boat and is listed on ebay( Item number 6016872257 ). Boat wasn't quite as described to us and for my bro-in-law it was just too much of a project for what he was looking for. The boat does need work...but there was nothing to indicate the the hull had been beat or that it wasn't sound. In fact the hour meter showed 89 hours and from the history that we got on the boat....these might original hours! There are no motors and would need some serious wetsanding time, a new trailer and some upholstery work(just redoing the sundpad..bolsters and back seat looked good). But for someone that knows how rare these boats are and has a couple of small blocks sitting around you could have a really rare (and fast with a couple of blown 383's) bird. Here is a link to some pictures over on speedwake. If you have any questions feel free to let me know as I know I wouldn't trust anything on ebay just by the description! Would like to see someone who knows how rare these boats are and that might have the time to put this project together bring this unique boat back. Guy was pretty set at 6k firm for the whole thing. He also has both outdrives, all the interior pieces and most of the motor add-on and accessories to go with the boat out of it and in his house.

It's a shame , a friend of mine have "3" 406 small blocks complete flame arrrestor to pan that could use a good home. I'm sure two of them would go real nice in that.

I've got a buddy with an '85 242 with twin 350s. Right now he is having the drives rebuilt and has talked about selling it. I don't know how much he would want for it. $10 grand maybe. Just a guess. But, I think he is interested in selling. If interested please let me know.
