If I make a change, it won't be for another 382. I really like mine. If I make any changes, it would have to be pretty radical.
Formula's website has a nice site where it shows the specs of the 353 and 382 for comparison purposes. Kelly and I overnight alot on the 382-Would not have considered a 353 for that. (IMO) AC/GenSet was a must when I was looking.
Chris, I like the diamondplating in the engine compartment.

Kevin, are you looking to get out of the 382, or you just itching to make a deal with Nelems on a new one? ![Big Grin](/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Maybe this is a decent time for me to hijack and ask how the 382, 353 and 311SR1 cockpits compare? As much as I love the engine room space when I have to get in there, I find myself wishing there was more room between the bench and the bucket seats. My knee has found that grab handle a few too many times...

Thanks, Kevin. One of last years many projects. Looking forward to downing spirits and checking out the boats with you next week.
Want to take a look at your generator rigging. I have a 6.5KW Kohler generator that came with the boat but has never been installed. Now that I have my engine problems sorted out, I will be installing it and want to get some ideas from yours.

Thursday night would be a great night to start! With everything you've done to your boat this year the genset should be a piece of cake for you. There's gonna be some nice rides so I will have the batteries charged in the camara this time! I'm especially interested in one

i cant imagine that you would like the space or the storage in either of them coming from a 38 quest. i have also heard that the 353 is better a balanced boat. not sure what that means or if i would have the ability to tell...been in a and ran with a 353 plenty of times, nice boats. never riden in a 382. there is a very clean 353 in petoskey for sale if you are interested give me a shout. good luck I love boat shopping.

We just did 5 days in a 382......with 3 boys age 5, 8, 11. The trip was great and the boys loved it. But with 5 people for 5 days that thing seemed like the size of a canoe by the time we got home!!!
Then as I'm pulling up to my dock (finally home!!!) a guy in a center console comes and asks me to tow a broke down 30 footer to a local marina!!! Man that sucked, I was so ready to get off the water but couldn't leave the guy floating.

382 will have more room but will take alot to go fast, A 353 has decent room and run pretty fast and ride nice, I never rode in a 382 but I am sure it is nice, depends mostly on what is more inportant, room or speed?
