311 Hatch Actuator
My old gal may need a new hatch actuator this year. Anyone know the correct size? Once again, my boat is at LOTO, I am 250 miles away and I am itching for a Spring project . . . besides the rub rail and the stereo (again . . . ) and the . . . an the . . . .IS IT F-N SUMMER YET?

What's wrong with it? If you search this forum you'll find several threads about taking the actuator apart for service. I think Iggy provided the most comprehensive advise - he's had his apart a couple times.
Mine been out a few times too. When I first got the boat I didn't quite have the hang of knowing when the sunpad was all the way down and I bottomed out the actuator. Has to come out at that point to be freed up. Thankfully that hasn't happened in a couple years.

The actuator arm itself is a little bent- was out banging around at LOTO and all sorts of h-ll broke loose. It is 20 years old . . . maybe I can make a warranty claim? Seriously, I would love to just service it, but I think we are past that at this point. MIKE- lemme know if you got a chance to measure . . . and, if so, what the dimensions are. THANKS!!!!

measured it this morning ....18" .... It you just want to swap it out get the 18" .... I was looking at mine and I think you could get the 24" to work but might have to relocate the brackets .... Also the relay kit works good too ....

What I would like to do is repair the arm, keep it and replace the rest of the boat with a 353 with big power. Now that seems reasonable . . . my wife says "no" . . . what is wrong with her?
