Default speed 271 Fas tech

Hello all!

I want to buy a Formula 271 Fas Tech with a 496 HO, who can tell me how fast this realy goes?? i hear a lot of different stories.....
Also do i need Trim tabs or can i live with out?

My guess would be low 60s. Tabs would be nice for getting on plane, but not necessary.

Low 60's. They slowed down a bit when Formula went to GPS speedos as standard equipment

Depends if you think your going to try to open the the motor up to go faster then by all means go with the k-plains you will never regret it they are the CAT'S MEOW ! " I have a 271 with a 540ci and would not be caught dead with out them".

they´re just replacing an 496 by an Corvette
7 l and aprox. 550 hp.

I guess its not looking to good for me. I just picked one up & the motor is at JC performance I thought with 500 hp i'd be close to 70

66 with an HO is prob all you will out of it. heavy boats. VERY well made.

Or i want to buy a 271 Fas tech or a Nirdic 28 heat and i can not choose.
