Anybody know the weight of a 1986 242LS with a single small block?

There was a thread a while back about this. I have one, though I haven't had it weighed, most people say they are closer to #5500.

Don't think so Cuda , my 272 with t/bb's is 5788. So deduct 1200 lbs for an extra BB and drive, thats 4500 and deduct a little more for three feet less and a small block , 4200 lbs sounds about right.
If it was one of those rare twin small blocks , I believe you would be in the ballpark

Mine does have twins. What year is your 272? I've heard in later years they added the length of the swim platform and changed the name from 242 to 272. I don't know that to be true or not.

Cuda you lucky dog. Twins in a 242 c l. Mine's a 1989 272 and its 27' 2" bow to stern and 29' to the end of the swim platform. If I'm not mistaken 242 will be 24' 2" bow to stern + any platform. The new 27's include the platform so they are actually 2 feet smaller than mine. They now include it because it's not removable. The cockpits are almost identical between the 272 and 242. The length is in the cabin. The jump seats are more like couches and there's also a hanging closet and a fridg.
I've had mine next to a newer 292 and it's virtually identical.
5500 lbs for yours should be pretty close , but Jons is a single . If I'm correct , and Jon is who I think he is we launch at the same place

Mopower, what engines do you have and what speeds are you seeing? I am going to be wishing for the larger cabin this weekend, we are planning our first overnighter in it saturday night. I hope I can sleep in it, my feet hang off the v berth, I'll just make my gf sleep on the deck.

Nice Guy Cuda, making her sleep on the deck That's what the back seat's for
As we speak , I still have 330's and get 68 GPS. I do have a pair of 540's on the way . Blocks are all prep'd ports in the heads still have to be "tuned up" a bit. Got the cranks , cams , lifters , rockers , intakes , fuel & water pumps , carbs , K&N's , canton pans , I'm ready!.
I've done the overnite thing, Not bad...my wife can't sleep in the v berth. Not enough headroom and she gets claustraphobic (sp).So I got a pad to fill in across the couches and it makes a good size spot to sleep , laying front to back. Got a Cruise-Air unit to drop in the hatch , now that's real cool literally! Also have a full enclosure off my bimini with screens for the sides as well as plastic windows.
I envy you in Clearwater...I bought my antifreeze and fogging oil Tuesday. Hoping for 2 more weeks
I've been in Tampa bay and down as far as Sarasota by boat. Nice area

Shoot, she'd sleep in the captain's chair if she had to! She's as nuts about boating as I am. It's bad when I have to be the voice of reason when it comes to spending for the boat.

MOPOWER - You are correct. I go out of Hargroves, but I'm not sure which boat you have. Do you trailer or keep it there?
