I wasn't sure what you meant by "Formula Thunderbird" vs a 311. Actually, all Formulas are built by Thunderbird. Anyways, I checked Boattraderonline and saw an 86 Formula Thunderbird for sale there with Kaamas. In general discussion, there was someone talking about a Kaama Formula on Ebay. It sold today for 21K and is located in So. California. If you look at both ads, they are the same boat - same motorhome in the background, same engine room, same mention of not having the port bolster in the boat. It sounds like it's gone, but who knows with ebay. I'd check back with the dealer in a few days in case the buyer doesn't follow thru on the deal. I'm assuming a lot here, so excuse me if I'm totally off base. As for your questions, the boat in the ads is a 311, but I don't know much about the drives except they are supposedly pretty bulletproof.

The post from General Discussion was here - http://www.offshoreonly.com/forum/sh...threadid=34900 and the ebay page - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1868862296
I'd call the guy up and before he could say it was sold, tell him you realize your offer was an insult and you want to up it to 27000. What is it they say about the first offer usually being the best and a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush??

Andy give him a call or Email. There is a good chance that if he said no to your offer before that he IS NOT selling the boat at what the auction finished at, even if he did not put up a reserve. There is a lot of stuff that is "sold" on Ebay that NEVER goes to the highest bidder because the seller thinks it is worth more. I am sure that if you call the guy up and let him know that the offer is still on the table you could have it.
