Default 1987 242ls

Well, we have been enjoying our 1987 242LS on Cayuga Lake here in NY for the past couple of weeks. It took our vendor a lot longer than expected to get the interior re-done but boy does it look good. They did new wood, foam and vinyl on the seats, sun pad and interior. Interesting to note that they did not measure the sunpad correctly and were two inches short with the vinyl/foam. However, this mistake worked in our favor as our hatch needed to be put together correctly and we needed to install a hatch lift. Our mechanic partnered with a welder and you can see the two inch strip of metal they added in the pics. It looks great and operates perfectly. There was no need to drill into any wood or vinyl.

Old interior was full of mildew and mold and waterlogged.

This metal strip is new and covers the two inch gap left by our upholsterers.

Here is the stronger support underneath the hatch.

Looks very nice and you won’t go wrong with the beefier hinge back there. Sometimes those “mistakes” end up working out quite nicely, like in your case.

I might need to duplicate that! The original setup is pretty flimsy... my 311's flexes a lot.

Looks like only some of these came with tow hooks on the transom. Do you know if the ones that do have tow hooks are all aftermarket installs?

Default Tow Hooks

Unfortunately I don't know if the tow hooks on the transom are from the factory or not.
