Update
Working on closing out the thread. Again, can’t thank everyone enough that commented, offered support and advice.
Project has been completed along with initial testing!
It will be a while until the engines are fully broken in and the full potential is realized. However, the headline is 82MPH GPS @ 4400 spinning the 30 bravo ones. Full tank and 2 people. Will be interesting to see what WOT and proper trim brings. Currently believe 90 might be attainable.
As I suspected, torque was going to win this one. Planning is effortless. The midrange pull is instantaneous. The 555’s sound amazing with original platform gone.
The hydraulic steering absolutely complements the power and changes the entire experience. It is not the same boat. Anyone on the fence, just do it!
It has been a rewarding, frustrating and expensive journey. With the expanded scope of the project I can’t be surprised that the budget was blown. In the end, the results are completely worth it for me.
