Formula Shopping

I sold my Eliminator Daytona after I bought a smaller Eliminator Ski Comp thinking I'd be happy with that. Went to Havasu with it over the 4th holiday and the water was too rough to even try to head up river. Got me on the big boat shopping bug. Having had a friend that owned a Formula 252LS and riding through some nasty stuff on Lake Mead I have always been a fan of Formulas for that aspect.
Looking at two hopefully this weekend.
1994 271 SR1 with low hour Grose built 850HP 572 big block and a low hour Imco outdrive.
1996 336 SR1 with twin 502's newer interior.
Not looking for the fastest boat but wanting something that I can cruise the Delta, Lake Tahoe and occasional trip to Havasu and be able to make it up the river with minimal stress.
Tow vehicle is a ford F-350 and I have a 40' storage to put the boat in.
Open for opinions from those that know the boats. Thanks in advance.
