Default Captain's Call Exhaust

Just placed an order for a 370 SS and one of the options was the Captain's Call Exhaust system.
My dealer suggested not to take it, once power improvement for a MERC TWIN 496 MAGNUM HO B3X W/CWC would be slim for this type of boat.
Any comments on the subject? any good or bad experiences?
Would appreciate any help on the matter.

Assuming the standard exhaust is thru-prop, you probably won't get too much performance gain from the Captain's Call. But I think the sound of the thru hull exhaust would be worth it. One thing to consider is that you'd pretty much have to always run it thru-hull when cruising because you aren't supposed to divert it thru the prop over 3000 rpm(or something like that). I wouldn't see that as a bad thing, but others might.

If it were mine, I'd have the Captain's Call - a sport cruiser should not sound like a Sea Ray...

Hopefully, I'll be able to move up to a 370SS one day, and I wouldn't even think about it without thru hull.

As stated earlier it not a Searay it's a Formula.

Either way I' sure you will enjoy it.

Mathematical justification:

Two 496 Mags + through-hull exhaust (i.e. Captain's Call) =

There you have it. Now go call the dealer and amend that order.

The best part about having C.C. is that when you want to hear 'em you can....and when you don't want to hear 'em you don't have to.

I would get it

Any body have any more information on the earlier mentioned comment about not being able to divert the exhaust thru the prop at higher rpm's?

I hadn't heard that before, any thoughts.

I know I had heard that from a couple places but it took a while to find it. Here's a previous thread - http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...threadid=29817
