michael
i see you are new.
hate to see newbies wait for a response..
can't help you directly, but try posting this in the tech section, you may get more traffic this time of year there.

good luck, the CMI 's are cool, I wonder what that will sound like with the dry exhaust entering into the silent thunder chamber. gotta be cool!!!!!
if you are upgrading exhaust, then cut out the baffle "plate" inside the silent thunder chamber between the transom and the outter flapper. i did it with a sawzall and a long blade. this will free up the exhaust flow and not require it to bubble through the water and exit below this plate's 1" gap to the bottom of the silent thunder chamber.

confused? send me a private message with your email, and i will send you a quick cross section drawing of the simple silent thunder "guts" inside.

Yo Ram,
I heard cutting out the baffle doesn't really make any difference in performance only noise
Whazzup?

Mike,welcome.
A 525SC in a 242 . That should certainly get your attention.
Can't wait to see some numbers on that one. Sorry , but I have a 272 and can't give you any 242 answers.

exactly.......

actually, i assumed no improvement for the flow of my 330's
but when you have a 525sc, and the exhaust is no longer the bottle neck, I wonder if changing the silent thunder will help some? back pressure is back pressure........?? just a thought

bottom line. I did it for sound, and when a boat sounds faster and looks faster....well it feels faster
