Has anyone used one for tubing or basic skiing, how is it with twin small blocks the boat is an 87. He is asking 16K for it.

Thanks

Should work fine, but if it's got thru hull it'll be loud back there.

272 Would be OK for tubing, it'll suck some serious fuel though after a day of tube dragging, even with small blocks. 272 sucks for any kind of serious slolam skiing though. Wake is way to big to get any good cuts in. Even my old 242 was pretty rough to slolam ski with, that wake was huge too.

We have used our 272 7.4's for a little tubing. I will pull the kids on the way to a destination. This is not the boat you want for tubing all day. The thing you need to be worried about is the price of the boat you are looking at, 16K for a 87' 272 is way to cheep! There can not be much left of this boat!! For a good 272 7.4 you are on the tall side of 30K. Spending 16K on a POS can quickly make you own a 30K POS. You are much better off buying a quality boat. By the way the 272 is an awsome ride. It could quite posibly be the most bang for the buck boat out there.

Good luck

I've seen a few 272 LS around here and they were all under 20K. I never really inspected one inside and out though. I think the 223 in the classifieds looks nice.

I don't think 16k is underpriced for an 87. I just sold an 85 242 in good shape with twins for $12.5k.
