Default 2002 292 Price?

The boat has 6.2's with hydraulic steering. Has 1 hour on it, leftover. What is a fair price?

Dealer has it priced at $99,999 with tandem trailer. I think it needs a triple axle trailer. I am not sure on the options, have not seen the price sheet yet.

Can the windshield on this boat be replaced with a wind fairing, if not can you order one from the factory with a fairing?

Thanks for your insight Troutly.

I am looking at 2 292's new, one a 02 w/o Latham & a 03 w/ Latham. Both have the 6.2's.

B.L. this particular 02 in my area is @ $108 on the trailer, an alumin I-Beam.
Troutly's cross checking matches perfect, although I wish this one had Latham.
Thing I don't like on this 02 is it has 20 demo hours on it which is kinda SPOOKY.....

The 03 I am looking at has the trailer too, Latham, Mechanical indicators, docking lights, stereo upgrade, transom shower & is $125, never in the water.. Seems a little high for an 03, or ok?

This board is fantastic, we can instantly get a "second opinion".......Thanks

03 seems a little high!! 02 has 20 hours, I would not call that a new boat then. Talk em down a bunch on that one.

Question

I dunno what that 02' is worth w/ 20 demo hours on it...they want me to make an offer.....

I really like the 03 (below) but I wonder what a great price would be for that one, $125 does seem high & more than I can spend right now.(6.2's & steering)

I am not interested in beating the dealer up, gouging, or asking him to operate at a loss.....I just want a fair price for the best boat.

I'd hate to see these things sit over the winter without a caring new owner... :-)

What is the story on the exhaust on these boats? I have seen them with exhaust tips and with what I think looks like exhaust vents, black in color. Can you take the exhaust vent looking things off and put tips on?
Here is a pic of the one I am looking at.

Oh! it does have triple axle trailer. Just got that pic.

The exhaust shown in post 6 is the back of the silent thunder system. Basically there are exhaust tips on the transom and the exhaust goes into a chamber that is baffled and holds some water to act as a muffler, then exits through the 4 ports. It still gives you some rumble without offending too many people at the marina. The silent thunder piece can be removed if you want a straight thru-hull sound and look. I looked into the exhaust vents in my boat and the tips seem short. I may have to replace them if I take my platform off.

Bill, all you have to do if you remove the silent thunder box is install the clamp on rubber flappers, most dealers stock them.

Two bolts through the transom and two studs in the swim platform four hose clamps on the rubber exhaust flappers and very accessible easy 1 to 2 hour max.
