Robert is basically OK,just some stress.Happens a lot,he gets burned out and has to regroup. He is going to doctor Wed AM,thanks for your thoughts. Karen

I hate to butt in again, but I humbly suggest that you consider testing w/o the spacers before you settle in on the props. As long are you are not running into cavitation problems - which I think you already said you are not, sorting this out should be the first step.
That alone, I think you will find a 100-200 rpm increase and that extra mph to two.
The worse scenario would be is settling in with the props, having them labbed, then realizing you don't need the spacers, and having to bump the props again. It's just a waste of time and money.
At the very least, do the spacer testing before the labbing.

Just what is involved with removing the spacers? I have never seen one. Is it simply a matter of unbolting, removing the spacer and reassembly? Or do you need to change internal parts too?
I too would think that if it is an easy change that you would first try the 5 blades with the spacers removed. The 5 blades may be fine at the higher x, specially if the original props were too high a pitch.

Once you try the 5 blades you will want them! They are the ticket for heavy boats. You can also run a higher x dimension, with less slip, and thus more speed!
Our x dimensions' could be the same. Mine has Stellings boxes which are 14 inch set backs, while your ITS's are 9 inches. Your's is borderline's with 4 blades, therefore, I think, Formula added the spacers. If your drives were down another 2 inches you probably would have way less slip, and wouldn't be able to pull the 30" B1's past 4700.

Padraig, When you add a spacer you need a longer coupling for the vertical shaft, which you swap for a stock one if you pull it out. You also need longer or shorter studs etc. depending on which way you are going.

Thanks for asking that question. I am a little confused myself. I think it might have something to due with the amount of slip. if 29's slipped bad, they may have acted like 26's?
