Did the light on that gauge come on? In your owners pack is the entire wiring diagram of the boat, if you cannot find the crossed wire call you local formula dealer and or high perf shop, it may also be a gauge problem...

Most of the time when things are acting "STRANGE" you have a "BAD" ground problem. Check for corrosion and loose connections. By corrosion I mean even the slightest visual will mean a definite electrical problem. It's one of those "if you can see it it isn't good" When it comes to electrical problems. Most of the time it's PFM "Majic?" you can not "SEE" the problem it takes meters and whatnot's.
