hey twins,
No, i picked secret formula up at the beginning of boating season this year with only 250 hours...probably paid too much. I took it out three times and hydrolocked a motor due to ingestion through the stock manifolds....that's when i bought the imco's. They had to install a whole new block because i spun a main so bad in the process, so after a month or two i got it back and it stayed together for 1 hour and broke a lifter in half! Another couple weeks and i get her back and have put 15 hrs on the new motor so far in the last month. Love the boat, i want to ditch the silent thunder and put an extreme marine platform with new tips on some time. Next step is stereo and dash upgrade, i'll keep posting as i upgrade. This winter i'm gonna redo the sunpad, i'm thinking all white. I would like to see some other pics of SR-1's with rodone pads.

I too agree dont ditch the platform, do some mods such as CB's or a cpl of the other guys also have done a few thing to make it grumble more, but only when on plane, My opinion is to make the hatch original, a gentlemen locallly redid his all white and it just simply looks to plane, the colors really set it off to me, but its your boat and its a Formula so it will look good no matter whatif thats the 311 that I'm thining it is it was for sale for a long time

that it is 242
i think it sat for two years with major engine trouble til i bought it. i bought it from a marina that warrantied all the problems i've had so far this year so i can't be too upset about the downtime. what do you mean when you say mods like cb's???? i did gut the baffles on the silent thunder but i think the whole open box still sounds a little muffled.

Have you listened to it from behind the boat while it's running? Do you still have the tips/flappers on? I trimmed out the baffles and haven't reinstalled the tips & flappers. While I could definitely tell a difference from inside the boat, I never thought it was that much louder. UNTIL I backed in somewhere. Definitely a difference. My boating buddies also tell me how "loud" it is...last Sunday I entered the lake where we hang out. All idle...they were at least half mile away, with boats in between, and they heard me, then spotted me, and called me before I could spot them.
I still need to find somebody I trust running my boat so I can listen to it run
