I like hearing that.....especially the midrange stuff......thats been my idea for my boat.......I have an 89 non step 29 thats in nice shape with twin stock 270hp smallies that runs 64 gps and the plan is to repower with some 400 - 425hp 383s......but buying a new house, a new truck, buying out (getting rid of) an ex wife and quitting my job and starting a new business have delayed it ......if he sees 82 (gps?) with 360hp/side with his single step and those scorpions maybe I might see 85 with 425......Id be soooooo happy with that

Can I ask why he wants twin BB's? I had a '94 with twin 502's and it was slower than a single 496. Also it sat too low in the as* and I think that contributed to it sinking at my dock. (Heard this was the reason Fountain Stopped putting them in 29's and 32's. Forget about working on the motors... there is absolutly no room in the bilge. Just my .02.

Just found a pic of this 1991 29 with blowers. E-mail me if you want to look into it.

one other weird thing about his 2004 with the scorpions...it has a smaller steo than the single engines do...and yes 82 is gps...well gps speedo...the spec sheet from fountain ran84. i have driven the boat several times and with about 1/2 to 3/4 fuel and me...190lbs and gear it always ran a solid 80...the best part about the boat is the punch it has. i would have been all for a single in a 29 until I drove the scorpions...in fact i tried to talk him out of twins...I was WRONG!!! Also the gig blocks area huge pain to work on. the scorpions have plenty of room. Fountain mounted the battereys behind the bolsters in the storage area and they also moved the fresh water tank forward...also on all the newer boats about 1/2 to 1/4 of the rear seat lifts up with the hatch and it makes working down there a breeze...well easier!!!!

reading your posts make me want to keep going with the boat........ sometimes with all the great deals out there these days I feel like unloading it (that in itself is no easy feat these days if you dont want to just give it away) but then that would mean going back into a loan (it had one for one year) to get something signifigantly better and probably a truck upgrade........Ive done SO much to this boat (I should say package).......I think Im best off to keep going with my little project especially with our short seasons....it'll be fun when its done......doug
