Steve,

I believe this boat is the one the guy with the '03 38 ordered as the replacement. Looks like it was just fininshed on 9/30 and is for sale already! You will notice on the link it is a Tom Jr. deal...speaking of which, I have a story. Call me when you have time.

With 1300 hp, how many times can you take a boat like this out on trial runs before you have to rebuild the engines?

Hey Gary, I knew that. What I couldn't figure out was why? I was hoping I wouldn't have to call, but did. Turns out the guy who owns it is willing to sell it for what he paid for it and then do it again. Knowing all the trouble he went through to get it as perfect as it is, I am shaking my head. Well, I always said the thrill is in the hunt, but for this guy the thrill is in the build. What I was afraid of was that my deal might have tanked, so of course I worried -in the end for nothing but still had to call because it didn't make sense. I can tell you whoever can pony up the coin for this badboy is going to be smoking happy. Getting all the custom stuff right was a nightmare for him and it took over 7 months. Then to start over??? Wow.......

I was going to call but work is nuts, just got home at 9..... I'm going to try and hook up tomarrow..... We still need to do dinner...

Steve

If he sells, could be him. Told me he was going to come to the next run with his buddy who did a similar thing with a 47. Same power - Sterling 1350 on Cam II, 1100 on Premium. Custom paint, set up by Reggie etc. These boats are insane money, at least for me. The boys at Fountain claimed they had it at 142, but it ran 135 or so with the owner and Reggie at the helm. Reggie held back as the guy was on the boat. Guy made a real point telling Reggie was a class act and a hell-of-a-pilot. Hey if he does another one, then there might be 3 more rocket ships to carry the Fountain name.

This is an identical setup to FountainDrivers 42. FountainDrivers boat ran 125MPH @ 5600 last weekend full of fuel on 93 octane. (1100HP) The Garmin GPS has 130 MPH recorded in it. This boat has never had the boost turned to the 1350HP setup. It is also for sale. There are several of these setup out there now.
