Default Lightning vs. Ex.

I have been looking at a new 42 Lightning and the Ex. After the Miami show I fell in love with the new Interior of the Lightning, but after I hit back on Earth and found out that the boat cost approx $75,000.00 more than the Ex.!!!! I have a deal all set on the Ex. but I love the Lightning. What would you do??? Is it worth the extra $$$ on resale I need to decide and just cant... And yes $$$ is not unlimited to me.....BZ

Uhhh...won't you be sticking out of your slip, BZ? That's a big no-no at Hammond these days!

Lightning vs EX...for the kind of boating you usually do, do you REALLY need all that cabin? All you do is pass out in the berth anyway! Whattaya gonna do...watch TV below deck or sit on the dock and drink a BL? You know I'm right . And dammit...the new one better be as pretty as the current one!

I'm in at the Aqua Fin, dude. Can't wait for June.

I like the Ex better. I still can't get with the rounded
windshield on the lightning. Same bottom on the 42
EX as the lightning. I do like the new interior.....
but not for 75K.

You might be interested in pics of my 06 all-white 42 Ex. Just took delivery this week from Pier 57. I like the better cabin of the Lightning as well, but no way is it worth the difference in price.

BZ, did you talk to Bill, buyafountain.com.
I know he was selling his dealer demo all white w/ merc 600s for a deal!
Worth the call!

I think the difference in price may not be 75k, more like 50-60k, but still too much. I also like the classic "old-school" look of the Ex. I got as little color on the boat as I could, but I think a little bit of blue sets it off.

Damn that is sharp...the blue looks awesome. Bob, I was told this weekend that I should not ride in a 42 so soon after I bought my 35...but I may have to ignore that bit of advice . Will this deal be done before our little trip? If so, you'll be throwing our single-step 35 triumverate (you, me and Brad) all out-of-whack.

Oh yeah...who are you dealing with and what power? Don't overlook my girl Charlene...I'd never hesitate to send her customers. Raymond's is awesome.
