I like the 38 EC but it seems slow with the very popular 496's(haven't seen a 525 boat for sale yet). The 48 is killer but to big for my storage situation.
Anyone been on one/ pilot one?

I use to maintain a 47' SC and all the cabinets in the cabin worked there way loose. The microwave fell out and after everytime out in the boat, you come back to the dock and there was saw dust on the carpet from the cabinets moving around.
The customer sent it back to Fountain to have it straightened out and it was still as bad.
The ride was good, handled well, wasn't wet. That I believe was his only gripe.
Also had a customer with a 38' did the same thing.

I was referring to the new EC's, not the tall SC's from years ago. The new boats are comparable to a Fomula 370 SS/ 40 SS.

Unbelievable boats ... I have seen 64 MPH with 496 MAG HO and 71 with 525 Package. Fountain jus recently redesigned the whole boat and incorporated a full stagger setup. Waiting to see numbers but I would estimate approx 67-69 with 496 HO Package.

I have yet to see a 38 EC 525 boat for sale, they all have been 496 HO's.
BlownIncome- Being a dealer, how has the resale been? I would be worried about the boats becoming the next Fountain 65 as in out of production and zero resale.

I was out on Shogren's 48 Express cruiser for the Windy City Poker run last year. That boat rocked! If I was doing a cruiser that would be it. The one I was on had triple 525's and with 22 on board hit 72 on GPS. Not bad for a cruiser.

great boats. handle the ocean well. with trip yanmars the are essentially the boat to have. when comparing to say sea ray , mariha, cruisers, and the like, there really is no comparison, great cruise, handling and speed along with amenities to rival the absolute best.
