29 Fever with 575 speed
I need to get some more speeds numbers for 29's with single 575's.
I am selling my 2001 and want some performance numbers from others - I think I have a really good running boat and want to be able to say that if I can. I have my eye on a 35' so I am trying to unload mine quick --- 76K
I see tnothin you are running 81-82 mph -- we talked before - sounds like you are making progress - good job !!
MY SPEED -
I just ran last Saturday before fueling in 60 degree air - 6" chop - 1/4 tank fuel - Stock boost (5 psi) ----- 85.2 mph on GPS -- Stock 30" Bravo 1 - 5350 rpm

Re: 29 Fever with 575 speed
Hey man. Went out yesterday and ran 82gps, 1-2ft chop 70 degrees out, 3/4 tank of fuel, 3 people. I know it had more left didnt stay in it that long.
Question about 575 mod: Im thinkin of goin to a smaller pulley and uppin the rev limiter to 5600, and maybe an msd. What do you think? And what does everyone else think?
Thanks, Chad

upping the boost over 7 psi will put you into drive failure and possible head gasket problems -- I would be careful with adding boost - may not be worth the risk

Re: 29 Fever with 575 speed
Went back to the stock setup a while ago. I think most of my speed gains were in the newest XR lower that I installed. Merc Racing said they were faster, plus like I told you before, I fine tuned the X-dimension by installing a 1/2" spacer.
Seems to be running really well, especially when I get low on fuel, where before without the 1/2" spacer, it actually slowed down.
I have not had many responses from others with 575's on this thread so I can't really compare.
Oh yeah -- I am in fresh water too !! Wonder what it would do on Reggie's river now ????
