2000-2002 Fountain 42: Don't like the tall windshields....Can you have a professional cut down a tall windshield a few inches and re-attach the trim with minor mods to the trim??? or do you have to buy/trade one of the low one's? Anyone ever solve this??? Just doin some homework here preparing for a purchase.....

The race fairing looks much better than either windshield option. I almost bought a 29 fever and had done some research. Call Tom McNabb in Morris, Illinois, #815-041-1546. He builds custom fairings for Fountains.
I didn't end up buying that boat, but Tom was a real nice guy and would have been able to arrange for everything, including transport. Real nice guy. Word is he's also great with blueprinting bottoms as well. Good luck.

I got a 92 27 that has the windshild without the lip. It has a bolted on extra clear lip to direct the wind..I agee ..It looks much sweeter...I'm in the process of getting a brand new one ..I will cut the lip offf and re atach my other clear lip ..like it was ..

Once I cut off the lip I will sand it and polish it..

When drilling the holes i will use a speacial plexiglass drill bit and drill slow..(It is like a dull standard drill bit.)

I will then paint it black on the inside . By sanding it w 320 and then putting bull dog on it then the black..For some reason >My boat looks sweet with the black glass.

Is this what you are thinking about doing?????
